Dr. Hany Shenouda

Owner & Senior Dentist

Dr. Hany Shenouda is the owner and most senior dentist on staff at the Durham Dental Centres. He graduated from Cairo University, receiving his Bachelor of Science and his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1983.

Dr. Shenouda started his practice in Ajax in 1997, and has since opened 2 other offices in Pickering and Whitby South. Dr. Shenouda prides himself in his work, with a passion for implants, oral surgery and root canals. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, scuba diving and soccer. Dr. Shenouda aims to please all his patients with his caring nature, determination and professionalism. He thoroughly enjoys spending time with all his team members and looks forward to many years of helping his patients achieve their oral health goals. Whether you see our staff for a complete smile makeover or simply for routine dental care, Dr. Shenouda thanks you for your trust and loyalty in his practices.

Dr. Anne Soetikno

Dentist

Dr. Anne graduated from the University of Toronto, obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry including fillings, root canals and extractions. By attending courses, Dr. Anne stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry. She has a particular passion for cosmetic dentistry because of the positive impact she sees in her patients. Dr. Anne strives to provide her patients with a relaxed, comfortable and pleasant visit, and respects her patients’ individual needs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and running.

Dr. Girish Deshpande

Certified Orthodontist

Dr. Deshpande is a board certified orthodontist who has been providing outstanding orthodontic care to create beautiful smiles for his patients for the last 18 years.

With decades of cumulative experience in different aspects of orthodontics, Dr. Deshpande and our support staff have the knowledge, training and expertise in this very exciting field of dentistry to help you reach your orthodontic goals.

Apart from conventional orthodontics, Dr. Deshpande uses highly cosmetic clear braces and Invisalign®. Dr. Deshpande is a member of the Canadian, Ontario and American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Deshpande has successfully treated over 2000 orthodontic patients, including surgical orthodontic patients, cleft lip and palate cases, as well as children with dentofacial deformities.

Dr. Bishoy Shenouda

Dentist

Dr. Bishoy Shenouda is a graduate of Misr University for Science and Technology, Faculty of Dentistry in Cairo, Egypt (2009). He is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. Dr. Shenouda is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Shenouda likes all aspects of dentistry; however, he takes a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and ensuring that his patients have a pleasant and relaxing dental experience. His philosophy is a patient centered approach, in which the patient’s chief complaint is the focus of the treatment plan. His goal is to make every patient feel as comfortable as possible by offering a compassionate environment. He is meticulous about delivering high quality treatment with regards to form, function and esthetics.

Dr. Shenouda genuinely listens to each patient and develops treatment plans that are carefully tailored to individual needs. Patients love his approachable, friendly personality. He puts great emphasis on education and encourages his patients to understand and to be involved in their treatment plan. Dr. Bishoy is fluent in English and Arabic.

Dr. george spanos

Dentist

Dr. George Spanos received his Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Western Ontario. He then moved to Vancouver to attend dental school at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Spanos is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and prides himself in making even his most anxious patients feel as comfortable as possible during their dental visits.

Dr. Spanos is a certified Invisalign® provider giving patients a comfortable and discreet orthodontic alternative compared to traditional metal braces. He is trained in using dermal fillers such as Juvéderm® to enhance the lips and improve the smiles of his patients. Dr. Spanos offers Botox® as a therapy for those suffering with temporomandibular disorders, teeth grinding and facial pain. Dr. Spanos is pleased to serve his patients in both English and Greek.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Spanos enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and sailing Lake Ontario.

Dr. Ron Zohar

Certified Periodontist

Dr. Ron Zohar obtained his Bachelor in Medical Science from the faculty of Medicine, Ben Gurion University, Israel. DMD from Tel-Aviv University where he joined the teaching staff of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry shortly after his graduation in 1987. Dr. Zohar started his Graduate training in Periodontology at Tel-Aviv University and was sent as part of the program in 1994 to University of Toronto where he completed in 1998 a combined PhD/Clinical periodontology program in the universities of Toronto and Tel-Aviv respectively, which was followed in 2000, with a fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists of Canadian Periodontology. Dr. Zohar returned to Toronto in 2002 to take a full time position at the University of Toronto where he was active in clinical training as well as building a clinically translational research. Dr. Zohar is also serving as an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics. Dr. Zohar’s clinical work is focused on Regenerative Periodontology and Implant therapy.

Dr. ValErie D'Silva

Dentist

Dr. Valerie D’Silva graduated from University of Goa-India in 1995 and has been in private practice since. To pursue her passion of creating beautiful smiles, she took an advanced training course in restorative and fixed prosthetic dentistry.

In 2007 she moved to Toronto as an international student at the University of Toronto where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree in 2010. Currently a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Ontario Dental Association and Durham-Ontario Dental Soceity, Dr. D’Silva has a gentle and compassionate approach. Sensitive to patients' needs her aim is to provide patient-centered dental care ensuring optimum health and patient satisfaction. She is dedicated to the profession and practices all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in aesthetic dentistry, crown and bridge work.

Operations Manager

Michelle

Meet our operations manager, Michelle. Michelle graduated in 1995 and has completed her CDA, PDA and CDR. With over 26 years of experience in dental practice management, Michelle has extensive knowledge in office logistics, dental design and a thorough understanding of the dental field as a whole. Michelle oversees our 3 locations throughout Durham and ensures the smooth operation of all aspects of the practice which translates to an overall great experience for our patients.
